New York native Queens born entertainer Nigel ‘Docta Gel’ Dunkley loves to to make people laugh even if he’s not the one doing the talking. Raised in Hempstead, Long Island Nigel had the calling for the arts at a young age performing in talent shows, church plays, and studying theater in college. Best known as a ventriloquist he picked up the classic art browsing through books and watching videos. The pursuit of being an entertainer didn’t come without challenges. Growing up with a speech impediment did not stop his drive. Nigel persisted and practiced his craft and now finds himself in performing comedy shows with experienced professionals who travel the world.

Being avid performer in New York City subways and streets has been a catalyst to his career. His first taste of social media stardom resulted after performing on the train in a youtube video that has garnered over 4 million views.  Along with his signature beloved character Cindy Hot Chocolate, Docta Gel has visited the likes of nursing homes, social events, house parties, and performed his act at venues such as Brooklyn Museum, Baltimore Convention Center, and Resort World Casino . In 2017 he made his national tv debut as a featured guest the Steve Harvey Talk Show. He has also appeared and competed at the World Famous Apollo Theater.

His puppet show dubbed ‘Geltown’ feature an assortment of personalities he encountered throughout his life.  An avid NYC street performer ‘Urban Sesame Street’ if you will.   Nigel ‘Docta Gel’  Dunkley is grateful for his life in the entertainment business so far and looks forward to continue in the work. Driven by motivation and inspiration from other artists such as comedy Shari Lewis, Eddie Murphy,Jeff Dunham; Nigel embarks to be inspiration to others. Besides live performances with his ventriloquism act Docta Gel works to expand his talents through creating content in the mediums of video, music animation and other artistic forms. Stay tuned.
